Ripley’s Raiders were known for leaving these signs to intimidate the enemy in the area. This is a posting along Highway 9 between Ca Lu outpost and Khe Sanh.

In July 1967 Navy Lieutenant John P Miller MD, battalion surgeon (right) carved the logo into a wooden plaque, which he presented to Captain John Ripley at the Ca Lu outpost. Also pictured is the Regional Forces Company Commander Dai we (captain) Quan.
