Another couple of young girls from the village. It seems my photographer got side tracked as I specifically told him to take pictures of me with the villagers. These girls were older than the ones I posed with, but they were young enough that their teeth were not yet discolored by chewing betal nut, which was used throughout the region as an anesthetic for the pain caused by dental decay.

While in the Ca Lu area there was no fraternizing with any of the women of the Montagnard villes or any of the other villes by the Marines of Lima Company.

Note the bowl haircut on the unidentified marine leaning over behind the girls.

Dispensing some aspirin to woman with a badly infected finger which caused her to run a fever.

The youngster seems to be fascinated by my watch.

When I gave my camera to the marine I asked him to let me know when he had one picture left. When I was informed of this I would get the entire village population together in a group and take their picture and present it to the village chief. They all loved identifying themselves in the picture. They acted like any other group who had their picture taken. Laughing and teasing each other about how they appeared as a result of a less than optimal pose.  It's unfortunate that I didn't tell the marine with my camera to save two pictures and that way I could have taken 2 group photos and kept one for myself.
