A must read for anyone who has been or have had loved ones stationed
overseas or in combat. This book describes my journey to becoming a combat corpsman
with Ripley’s Raiders in Vietnam during 1967.

This website was actually the beginning when I wrote my memories of 3d
Battalion, 3d Marines and published it on the internet in 1999.
In 2005 Louise, my girlfriend back in the states when I was in Nam,
surfaced and told me that she had saved every letter I had written her. She
loaned them to me and I scanned them all.
After transcribing all the letters into a word processer I used them as the
framework for the book. Over the next several years I was able to expand
and document the details of my Vietnam experience. I also included 50
photos.
Finally in 2010 my memories, which had always lurked just under the
surface, were safely recorded and published in these 408 pages of Letters
to Louise. Having completed this project they now have retired to the
deeper recesses of my brain.
