Our refrigerator was officially to store antibiotics, but most of it was used to store our beer and sodas. The air temperature was around 120 during the day with close to 100% relative humidity so cold beer was greatly appreciated.

Life settled into a routine here.  In the morning after breakfast we held sick call. Examining and treating Marines with minor ailments and injuries until around 1000. Then we sweep down the floor of the BAS, restock supplies, etc. until lunch. After lunch we would again have sick call. Usually not much happened during the afternoon, so we would inspect camp sanitation and fumigate hooches with DDT to kill mosquitos and other annoying critters. In the evening we would take a shower, go to dinner, and then play cards and drink beer until midnight.
