Payable straddled Highway 9
just south of the Rockpile as seen from the hill on the east side of the
position looking west. Highway 9 is seen at the right where it dog legged
through our position. 2nd and 3rd platoon
trench is on the left. Lima C P is located just past the first bend in the
road on the left. The bunkers in the
foreground were occupied by the weapons platoon. There are also 105 mm and
155 mm artillery down in our area. The Chow Tent is seen off to the right
of the road. The bridge and hot showers are located near the middle of this
photo on the right where the highway goes to the left. The first road past the bridge to the
right is the trash dump.
