We followed this stream down
out of the hills. As it coursed its way down, it formed tranquil pools.
Some of these pools appeared to be carved into shapes that were unlikely to
have been carved by nature. The marine on the right is me.
We
wondered if these were part of some ancient culture's hillside village. It
was hard to evaluate because of the overpowering jungle growth.
We followed this stream on
down from the highlands until it converged with the Quang
Tri River near the village of Ba Tanh.
On
our patrol route this Montagnard woodsman chopping down tree in the hills
south of the Quang Tri River near Ba Tanh.
