Lima operating in the vicinity of (YD 102658) reported sweeping the enemy
base
camp
and locating a camp site consisting of six bunkers four feet by seven feet
by four feet reinforced with dirt and wood eight inches thick. The Marines
captured seven packs, assorted tools, picks, numerous hammocks and uniforms;
two 82mm mortar rounds and indications of 10 NVA KIA (probable).

3d Marines on order commence attack to north,
northeast to seize Objective 3. Upon seizure of Objective “E”, be prepared
to patrol to the west.

operation:
As determined by Company Commanders.

road north of Objective 3.
Coordinating
instructions: D-Day - 24 March at first light; Rules of

Lima operating in the area of (YD 109671) reported that a water detail
located eight graves less than forty eight hours old containing eight
bodies wearing khaki uniforms and tennis shoes.
240954H Command
Group Alpha and Company Lima located in the vicinity of (YD 107657)
received 33 82mm mortar enemy mortar fire in their positions. Marines
determined that mortars were fired from (YD 099665) and (YD 105655) and
directed counter mortar fire on the enemy positions and grid saturation of
grid squares (YD 1168), (YD1167), (YD 1068) and (YD 1067). Results of
contact were one mortar bipod, base plate and two sights destroyed 3
Marines KIA and 17 WIA (10 med evac and 7 minor).
